internet explorer not loading pages

for the last week, my ie wouldn't load pages. simple fix - the adobe flash player was broken and needed to be reinstalled. if your ie can't connect to the internet (fucking you up for steam, football watching or any other ie business), here's one thing to try:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

this has been a public service announcement.

Pet sitter

Got a pet sitter video for tigger. It's an hour long video of natural
sights and sounds to capture and engage a kitty's attention. Goodness,
tigger loves it. I don't think I'll get the tv back for a while.

I have big ideas now of setting up surround sound, getting a bigger
tv, better couch, all so my cat can watch his nature videos, and I can
sit and watch him. Now I know how dads must feel. :|

Will the pet still enjoy this video tomorrow or will he get bored of a
rerun? Would it be a good idea to get the cat sitter trilogy? Oh dear
- I'm obsessing!

He gets up every now and then to try and grab the tv mice. Hee hee.
This is the best saturday night ever. :)

uncle david has a blog!

hey guys, my almost 60-year-old uncle david has a blog - all kinds of everything. check it out for uncle-style stories on life, food and funny everyday life.

i'm so tickled and happy whenever anyone in my family in the generation above gets right into this internet thing. i love it when people i looked up to as a kid do things that us kids do. it's like - we're not so different or distant after all, i'm not so little, and i've got heaps to look forward to when i get older.

you can tell i'm quite excited - HELLO, UNCLE DAVID!

Glands are the worst

I hate glands.

Took the day off work today to lie in bed with sore glands and dizzy
sinuses. I'm not coughy or sniffly, just woozy and a bit throbby. It's
like having the flu without any snotty evidence you can use to garner
sympathy. Woo - go me.

Questions of the future have popped up a lot lately. Would I ever get
married again? Will I ever have a baby? Where do I see myself in a
couple of years? What do I want to be when I grow up?

The answer to all of these questions is either "hell no" or "I don't
know".

I know I come across as a fairly organized person. And I'm proud of
being a fussy, yes. But I do have a special place in my heart for
uncertainty. I love having enough chaos to balance out the anal
retention. The emphasis here is on balance.

I like to imagine the future loosely, think on core stuff that feels
good deep down, then improvise around it. For example, it feels good
to raise and nurture somethingbthat can love you back, but I don't
need to have a baby to do that.

I could have cats instead, and send them off to learn the piano and
become top-notch lawyers and doctors - the way any self-respecting
asian parent would.

Sometimes improvisation includes short-term list-making and medium-
term goal-setting, but This business of meticulous planning for the
long-term is not for me.

At least, not now. Maybe one day. Today, I'll concentrate on bed and
rest. Good night. :)

omgsotiredwtfbbqhax

goodness. i'm so freakin tired. had the hottest game of football in the world today at lunch - 31 blardy degrees. the devil on my shoulder is telling me to skip practise tonight and go to the pub and ctfo for the long weekend, but i'm scared that if i start skipping, i'll get into a habit of skipping and learn nothing and it'll all fall to shit and then and then and then!!

!!!!!!!!!

i joined the hamersley rovers ladies team last week. i've only met up with them twice - once at my first practise session, then at the carnival on sunday. seems all right. they're about a 20-minute drive from home, and run training on thursdays when i'm tired tired already from lunchtime football. but i'm keen to stick with something serious for a season. let's see if $250 determination wins over cantbefucked-ness.

omg i'd like to not be so damn tired, please. tarr.

What's grey and sits in the middle of a field?

What's grey and sits in the middle of a field?

A filing cabinet.

What's brown and red and yellow, and sits in the middle of a field?

Me.

Played the first game with my new football team this morning. Omg fun!
We lost to the Under 17's team, who were younger, spryer and fitter
than us! No spring chicken anymore. :(

Things I need to work on:

- headers
- finishing
- not getting so frickin tired so quickly

It's cool so far, playing in a girls' squad. Had to tone down the
aggro a bit already ^^; oops. Really looking forward to Monday night.
I want to know if playing both indoor and outdoor can improve skill in
both - aside from the obvious "getting more practise".

Sorry this entry's so mundane - I'm quite tired and it's nearly time
for a hotdog. :) bye bye~

Continued to growth

Tried to play with internets tonite but I'm so fricken tired. Been
exhausted since leaving Melbourne. Only been back 2 days and I'm ready
for another break.

Jess (http://zoezombie.com) showed me http://posterous.com last week
and I love their simple interface and tidy rss feed, but alas, its web
posting interface is not right for me so I'll be sticking with
blogspot for awhile yet for general bloggage.

I like the idea of a decentralized website. You get to pick the best
of what the web has to offer and unite it all at your visitor contact
point.

Oh garr... Too tired to ramble pretentiously. Will save it for another
time.

Time to bed down. Good night, world.
